Locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks

Bin Laden is dead!
Now that the dust has settled a bit from the killing of Osama Bin Laden I have had time to reflect.  A Proverb comes to mind that sums up a different way to address what has happened.
Proverbs 24:17-20
17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls;
   when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice,
18 or the LORD will see and disapprove
   and turn his wrath away from them.
 19 Do not fret because of evildoers
   or be envious of the wicked,
20 for the evildoer has no future hope,
   and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
Look at the prison Bin Laden was confined in.  He could not leave his compound and was fearful of death every moment of every day and night.  What did he stand for?  Was it worth the cost?  What parts of God’s will was he living and teaching?  It certainly was not the Golden Rule…

    John,
    This verse jumped off the screen as I contemplated your post. The evildoer has no future hope... jumping above Bin Laden and his evil heart, I thought of Satan. I replaced Bin Laden's name with Satan's name... "Look at the prison Satan was confined in. Satan could not leave his compound and was fearful of death every moment of every day and night." Satan has been defeated. And Satan fears the power of a Christian on his/her knees praying like a might warrior. His prison is wandering this earth with no hope of victory! An evil heart, such as Bin Laden's is a prison all it's own. There is no freedom in evil and sin! Like you stated... look at the prison Bin Laden lived in. Surrounded by only a few people... never really enjoying what the Lord has provided for us on this earth. Hiding, like the coward he truly is/was!

    When Christ stretched out his arms on the cross and died... death had been defeated. The evil Bin Laden unleashed on this earth was vindicated two thousand years ago... and yes, the evil Bin Laden unleased on September 11, 2001 and the lives that were lost, was vindicated only a few days ago. My thoughts did not turn to jubilation over one man's death... but jubilation that good does conquer evil. Yes, terrorism will continue, just as Satan will continue to prowl the earth like a lion... but the Lion of Judah has roared! Sin and death are conquered! In the end Satan, just like Bin Laden, has been defeated!!!

  2. Wow, Kristen well done! Follow-up question. Jesus asks nothing of anyone, yet takes our sins if we believe in Him, so what reason could be given not to take this "FREE" gift?

    Let me help you with an answer...PRIDE.
